Borondo painted his most recent mural in Blanca Spain. The mural depicts 3 figures in what seem like a reference to the 3 graces but when you look closer you see faceless figures representing a larger demographic. As the figures seem to dance or turn in a closed circle so to is the reference to cultural communities sharing the same space. In the artists words “This mural talks about three cultures sharing the same place. In Blanca, Spain, even if in ancient times Muslims were banished, now history repeats itself and catholic, Muslims and local culture lives together.” The painterly murals of Borondo are aesthetically beautiful reminiscent of heavy body oil paintings. It is great to see an artist use skills that normally might be only seen on canvas or in the studio be able to share them on a larger scale. Great mural.
