Sowat and Jaw

Sowat took some time off for himself exploring abandoned buildings as well as some old and new natural landscapes. Most of the work is in the south of France in undisclosed locations. The first set of pictures is a homage of sort to an old abandoned WW2 bunker Sowat had painted in 2011, the weathered markings of his installation are distant and faint. The degraded markings still surviving nature yet a constant reminder of the ephemeral nature of these pieces. The second set of pictures show new installation with fresh paint minimal in execution only using a brush and acrylic, yet with such a profound impact and contrast from their surroundings. Beautiful pieces!. The last series is an abandoned building deteriorating daily and being stripped daily of its precious metals. Whats left is bones and these murals juxtaposed against another fading landscape that itself will be lost soon to nature or the nature of redevelopment.
