Galerie d’art Yves Laroche opened an impressive group exhibition yesterday “From Lines Into Abstraction”. An international lineup of artists co-curated by Reso “From Lines to Abstraction” proved to be a excellent example of how far graffiti has come. As you know this is something that we strongly endorse ourselves and it is great to see other examples push the genre forward. This is one the best shows we have seen this year well curated with excellent pieces from some of today’s top contemporaries. We strongly suggest you see this exhibition in person if you are anywhere near Montreal.

FROM LINES INTO ABSTRACTION

Under the co-curation of graffiti-veteran, RESO, this exhibition serves as a meditation on the value of abstraction in graffiti art. This group show features works by an impressive roster of 22 artists from Canada and all over the world. Each artist comes from a background in graffiti but the diverse works reveal many directions into which these roots can evolve. The artistic networks of Yves Laroche combined with those of RESO (based in Germany, Switzerland, and NYC) guarantee a very unique show. The opening’s music will be curated by the Sommelier Acoustique, a glass of Bulle de Neige in hand. Many of the participating artists will be present on the date of the opening, making the evening an international graffiti convention not to be missed.

Vernissage September 12th, from 5 to 9 pm
The exhibition continues until October 11th, 2013
6355 Saint-Laurent, Montreal
