Gilbert1 has been busy working on new sculptures and sculptural reliefs. Gilbert1’s palette remains consistent working in complimentary colors framed against aged and found materials. Gilbert1 is one of the many french artists that focus alot of their time painting abandoned and forgotten environments. The artist uses collected material from these places to work into his sculptures. This addition of found material in the artists work not only documents his ephemeral installations, it also allows the artist to act as a savior of sorts. Material that might have been lost forever is reclaimed. This a very interesting aspect of Gilbert1’s that enhances the other aesthetic qualities of his work.
