We apologize if your computer froze opening this post but blame Library Street Collective for putting together what could be considered the biggest single event in 2013. The Project titled “The Z” was was curated by Detroit’s own Library Street Collective. Taking on the tall task of not only curating, LSC had to handle the logistics of scheduling and hosting 27 international artists invited to paint the 10 story parking garage. The end result is a sleek contemporary parking garage that showcases and also allows Detroit to hold an important survey of today’s emerging new muralism. Who knows when there will be another project and space that will be able to match this project. The Z is an important documentation of the emerging aesthetics involved with our contemporary art form. We thank LSC for curating this impressive project.
