Early May 2013, Lek and Sowat were invited by the This is (not) Music festival and Agnes B to work on a massive in situ installation, at ‘la friche de la belle de mai’, in Marseille, France. During five days, Sly.M filmed the dynamic duo as they covered 6,500 square feet of empty space, using only acrylic paint, rollers and plastic film. On the night of the opening, as high winds transformed the site specific installation into a gigantic sound sculpture, the artists were humbled to life when Mad Mike and Detroit’s legendary Underground Resistance, in town for a concert, dropped by to check out their art. They were then given the authorization to pick a song from the label’s catalog to illustrate their video showcasing this week’s worth of hard work. hope you like it
