NOMADIC EXPERIMENT mongolia 2014 from 2501 on Vimeo.
There is no doubt that Never 2501 is one of those artists that manage to capture our attention. His works are visually stunning with an almost hypnotic line work in a monochromatic color scheme that emphasizes his technique.
It’s also this wavy line work of solid black that gives his work a certain sense of 3-dimensionality and softness, even when confronted with the otherwise stiff, geometrical shapes he paints. It is this ability to switch between figuration and abstraction that amazes the viewer the most.
The new mural and the pieces shown above are part of 2501’s ongoing project Nomadic Experiments that in this occasion involved a trip to Mongolia where the artist spent a few days traveling around.
Among the many recurrent geometrical shapes to be found in 2501’s work is the circle, which is also present in this wonderful mural.
Abstraction meets figuration, continuously interlacing each other and giving form to a well-balanced and elegant composition where the delicate brown palette not only gives the piece a warm look, but also seems to bind all the elements of the composition together.
2501 delivers once again clever and delicate suburban interventions that continue to amaze us and we look forward to see what his stay in Montreal (his next stop) will bring.

About the project:
NOMADIC EXPERIMENTS
“Nomadism is a practice of time-displacement, a process of remembering or actualizing, where virtual actualization is a form of creation (Gilles Deleuze).” TIME : 2500000000000000000000 DAYS SPACE : EVERYWHERE PLACES: ROADS, STREETS, ROUTES, PATHS AND ANY KIND OF SITES OBJECTIVE : DETACHMENT FROM THE DAILY LIFE METHOD : EXPERIMENTING, TRACKING AND DOCUMENTING! NO PLACE TO SIT – SLEEP – STAY (A WALK AROUND THE NEW TIME – IN A TIMELESS ISLAND CITY)!
The Nomadic experiments are an ongoing project that changes over time. Lived days and visited places will be time and space within which the artis experiments different forms, materials and ideas based on the concept that space could provide the most precious of materials and time should be the main instrument for the transformation of the first. The development of site-specific interventions, after a previous design
phase, will be made in relation to the changes arisen from the encounter between project theory and its manifestation in reality.
The creative intent of the intervention , would be it painting, sculpture, installation, print, responds to the need to break away from
reality to approach another reality.
!The city and / or sometimes isolated other times familiar lands become an escape from an enclosed space leading artist from one place to another, as continuous source of random situations.! By creating multiple temporalities the artist traces the processes that take on a meaning not so much in relation to a possible audience but in the fact of having been conceived and, along the way, realized.! The practice of nomadism and the experimental technique bring with themselves a sense of displacement and can not be reduced only to the post-production phase; they are rather a way of rethinking the production constantly changing point of view.
According to an approach in motion the artist researches, documents and experiences progressively different conceptions of reality that result in
the final appropriation of time within the experience of space. G.matta
