People should be paying attention to what is happening in Paris, as there are som important artists emerging not only in the streets but also now making there way to exhibit in galleries. Tomek and Dizer recently exhibited at l’Orangerie de Cachan. The 2 man show focused on new work from each artist involving paintings and sculpture. Each artist exhibiting intense abstract paintings utilizing elements of their street work. Tomek’s work is some of our favorite to date. His strong gestural pieces perfectly capture his hand and all its sincerity. If you are not familiar with Tomek you need only to walk along the streets of Paris and you can catch a glimpse of his imperfect hand styles. He is able to translate these moments in its truest essence. His more established pieces also translate his more finished street pieces. It is great to see an artist be able to utilize the street work and encapsulate it on canvas. This is no easy task. Dizer’s work is also reminiscent of his graffiti, as he has taken the form onto canvas. With repetition and a powerful use of common tools to his craft Dizer creates paintings that build upon his traditional aesthetics. All around a great show that we strongly recommend you to visit before it closes.
